Our Mission

The mission of the Center for Emerging Network Technologies (CENT) is to understand the future of networking technologies, and to engage students, faculty and industry in the process of defining and shaping that future. With a focus on Emerging Network Technologies we research and study the economic and technological trends affecting networking, and enterprise data systems such as new architectures and protocols, wireless technologies, data analytics and AI. CENT serves three distinct constituencies:

  1. To provide a platform for faculty research on digital convergence and networking.
  2. To provide experiential learning for graduate and advanced undergraduate student teams.
  3. To serve as a mutually beneficial learning interface between the networking technology industries and the School of Information Studies.
